  • Installation and wiring of rear lights must be carried out exclusively by a qualified automotive electrician.
  • Installation by painters, body workers, general mechanics, or unqualified personnel is strictly prohibited.

Failure to follow these requirements may result in:

GENERAL INFORMATION

Based on our experience, LED failures in rear lights are most commonly caused by moisture entering the housing.

To prevent this, it is essential to strictly follow the installation guidelines below.

 

MAIN CAUSES OF MOISTURE INGRESS

1. Overtightening of mounting bolts

Rear light mounting points are integrated into the housing.

Excessive tightening may cause:

  • damage to the mounting points
  • bolts to spin in place

As a result, the light may not fit tightly against the vehicle body, leading to loss of sealing.

Tighten bolts carefully, only until slight resistance is felt.
Overtightening is not allowed.

2. Incorrect installation of the sealing gasket

The sealing rubber must:

  • sit evenly along the entire perimeter
  • not be twisted or displaced

Improper positioning may lead to water ingress even if the installation appears correct.

Before final tightening, always check the seal alignment.

3. Connector connection

Common issues:

  • dashboard errors
  • unstable light operation

Requirements:

  • follow the supplier’s instructions for your specific BMW / Mercedes model
  • ensure connectors are fully inserted
  • make sure there is no looseness
  • check that contacts are not damaged or misaligned

All work must be carried out carefully, without excessive force.

Installation must be performed by a qualified specialist.

  • do not overtighten mounting bolts
  • ensure proper fitment of the light to the vehicle body
  • check sealing after installation

Moisture ingress caused by improper installation is not covered by warranty.
